2026-2027 New Educator Cohort: Support for 1st and 2nd Year Special Education Teachers

NEW FROM THE INDIANA COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN: Free Support for New Special Education Teachers The Indiana Council for Exceptional Children, in partnership with IDOE’s Office of Special Education, invites first‑ and second‑year special education teachers to join the New Educator Cohort. Membership in the cohort is completely free. Participants receive research‑based professional development grounded in proven practices and led by experts in the field.
The cohort includes:
- Monthly professional learning sessions
- Small‑group discussions with other early‑career educators
- Practical tools and resources for new special education teachers
- Support with instructional practices and High‑Leverage Practices
- Access to the CEC Learning Library
- A complimentary CEC membership
- Free access to Indiana CEC workshop
- Opportunities to connect with educators from across Indiana
- Resources designed to build confidence, knowledge, and professional support
More than 500 educators from across Indiana participated last year.
